The Dauphin DTR-1 and Linux
On the Dauphin DTR-1 and Linux - 08-05-96
Here are my findings for running Linux on a Dauphin DTR-1:
- I was able to stick in a linux root and boot disk set and get a
Linux prompt. (I haven't experimented any further)
- HRI
API is a Unix/X handwriting recignition program that would probably
work with the DTR-1. I haven't tried.
- You can probably use GPM and GPM-ROOT in text-mode to run commands
with just the pen.
- I am not sure if the mouse driver will run with the DTR-1 pen.
- wwicklun@unomaha.edu has
successfully installed Linux 1.1.73 (gcc 2.6.3), using only 20 megs of
space (52% free), and used a serial port USR WorldPort 14.4 modem to access his
dial-up account.
I will post more information here when I get it.
