Installing the
Creative Labs Movie Maker
Note: Do not connect the Video Blaster Movie Maker hardware to your
computer before installing the drivers.
1. Insert the Video Blaster Movie Maker CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Select the option to install drivers and applications if they are not
already selected.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
After each application is installed, you may be asked if you want to restart
your computer. Select No until all the drivers and applications are installed.
4. Connect the supplied USB cable and AC adapter.
5. Place the Video Blaster Movie Maker on a flat surface, plug the AC adapter
into a power outlet and turn on the outlet.
6. Windows will automatically detect the device and install the drivers.
7. When completed, restart the system.
How to create VCD's with the Creative Labs Movie Maker
1. Ensure that the Movie Maker is installed properly as follows:
- Right-click the My Computer icon on your Desktop. Click Properties,
then System Properties, then Device Manager.
- Click the plus (+) to the left of the Sound , Video, and Game Controllers
category. Creative Video Blaster Movie Maker should be listed. If the entry
is not listed, repeat the installation procedure ( see above article - 'Installing
the Creative Labs Movie Maker').
2. If a video source device is connected properly (i.e. VCR = RCA interfaces
and LEFT and RIGHT audio) when you open the Movie Maker Control application
for the first time (Start, Programs, Creative, Video Blaster Movie Maker),
you will be prompted to configure the settings for Video Capture. You can
skip this or apply the settings correctly for the video source.
3. Start the playback from the video source. If everything is functioning
correctly, the preview window will initialize and display the video.
4. To record, press the Record button. To stop, press the Stop button.
A thumbnail of your video clip will appear.
To copy the recorded video to a CD:
1. Click the Create CD button. This will initialize the Create CD Wizard.
2. When the message 'Select an Option' appears, click 'One Step Record'
and 'Create Video CD'
3. Select the desired CD-RW Drive.
4. In the CD Title dialogue box, enter a name for the CD.
5. Set the writing speed in the CD writing speed window.
6. Insert a blank cdr/cdrw disk into the CD-RW drive.
7. Click Next. The One-Step Record and Create Video CD window will appear.
On the Video Recording Duration window, enter
or select the time you wish to limit the recording to.
8. Initialize the resulting movie and click the Start button in the application.
Once recording is complete, the Create CD Wizard will automatically copy
the file(s) to your disk.
After the above steps are completed, you will be able to play the movie
using any program and drive which supports the VCD format.
Note This applies only if the drive and program you are using support
both the VCD format and the type of media it is written on. For instance,
older drives may support the CD-R format but not the CDRW format. Refer
to your CD Drive manual for information.

Video Blaster SE (Special Edition) is a video adapter for IBM 386 PCs and
higher compatibles which converts a standard full-motion video image (composite
