1 At that time Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent a letter and a present to Hezekiah; for he heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

á åÇéÌÄùÒÀîÇç òÂìÅéäÆí, çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ, åÇéÌÇøÀàÅí àÆú áÌÅéú ðÀëÉúÉä àÆú äÇëÌÆñÆó åÀàÆú äÇæÌÈäÈá åÀàÆú äÇáÌÀùÒÈîÄéí åÀàÅú äÇùÌÑÆîÆï äÇèÌåÉá åÀàÅú ëÌÈì áÌÅéú ëÌÅìÈéå, åÀàÅú ëÌÈì àÂùÑÆø ðÄîÀöÈà áÌÀàÉöÀøÉúÈéå: ìÉà äÈéÈä ãÈáÈø, àÂùÑÆø ìÉà 䯸ÀàÈí çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ áÌÀáÅéúåÉ--åÌáÀëÈì îÆîÀùÑÇìÀúÌåÉ. {ñ}

2 And Hezekiah was glad of them, and showed them his treasure-house, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures; there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not. {S}

â åÇéÌÈáÉà éÀùÑÇòÀéÈäåÌ äÇðÌÈáÄéà, àÆì äÇîÌÆìÆêÀ çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ; åÇéÌÉàîÆø àÅìÈéå îÈä àÈîÀøåÌ äÈàÂðÈùÑÄéí äÈàÅìÌÆä, åÌîÅàÇéÄï éÈáÉàåÌ àÅìÆéêÈ, åÇéÌÉàîÆø çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ, îÅàÆøÆõ øÀçåÉ÷Èä áÌÈàåÌ àÅìÇé îÄáÌÈáÆì.

3 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him: 'What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee?' And Hezekiah said: 'They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.'

ã åÇéÌÉàîÆø, îÈä øÈàåÌ áÌÀáÅéúÆêÈ; åÇéÌÉàîÆø çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ, àÅú ëÌÈì àÂùÑÆø áÌÀáÅéúÄé øÈàåÌ--ìÉà äÈéÈä ãÈáÈø àÂùÑÆø ìÉà äÄøÀàÄéúÄéí, áÌÀàåÉöÀøÉúÈé.

4 Then said he: 'What have they seen in thy house?' And Hezekiah answered: 'All that is in my house have they seen; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.'

5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah: 'Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

å äÄðÌÅä, éÈîÄéí áÌÈàÄéí, åÀðÄùÌÒÈà ëÌÈì àÂùÑÆø áÌÀáÅéúÆêÈ åÇàÂùÑÆø àÈöÀøåÌ àÂáÉúÆéêÈ òÇã äÇéÌåÉí äÇæÌÆä, áÌÈáÆì: ìÉà éÄåÌÈúÅø ãÌÈáÈø, àÈîÇø éÀäåÈä.

6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

æ åÌîÄáÌÈðÆéêÈ àÂùÑÆø éÅöÀàåÌ îÄîÌÀêÈ, àÂùÑÆø úÌåÉìÄéã--éÄ÷ÌÈçåÌ; åÀäÈéåÌ, ñÈøÄéñÄéí, áÌÀäÅéëÇì, îÆìÆêÀ áÌÈáÆì.

7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be officers in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

ç åÇéÌÉàîÆø çÄæÀ÷ÄéÌÈäåÌ àÆì éÀùÑÇòÀéÈäåÌ, èåÉá ãÌÀáÇø éÀäåÈä àÂùÑÆø ãÌÄáÌÇøÀúÌÈ; åÇéÌÉàîÆø, ëÌÄé éÄäÀéÆä ùÑÈìåÉí åÆàÁîÆú áÌÀéÈîÈé. {ô}

8 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah: 'Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken.' He said moreover: 'If but there shall be peace and truth in my days.' {P}
