System Requirements:

Windows 98. 
Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 with Internet Explorer 4.0 (or better) and Desktop update.

Description:

VerInfoTip is a simple extension to Windows Explorer.
It will display the version information and file format of executable files when available within a tooltip 
whenever the mouse is held above an executable file either within Explorer or on the Desktop.
If Explorer is configured to "display as web page" then the version info will be displayed in the web view panel.

The display of tooltips can be disabled by performing the following operations:
Start Explorer and from the main menu select "View", "Folder Options" on the resulting dialog select 
the "View" tab then unselect the checkbox labelled "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items".

Tooltips are displaed for the following file types: *.dll, *.exe, *.ocx, *.cpl, *.scr, *.com, *.bpl

Installation instructions.

To install create a new directory on a local hard drive and copy the file "VerInfoTip.dll" to it.
From within the new directory run the following command at the command prompt.

Regsvr32 VerInfoTip.dll

Un-installation instructions.

To uninstall run the following command from the directory where you installed "VerInfoTip.dll"

Regsvr32 /U VerInfoTip.dll

The file VerInfoTip.dll may now be deleted if so wished.
