Whenever a new Forum is created, it automatically generates the following HTML pages: |
| |
 Nav.html |
| |
  Is the default navigation page(static HTML) used in the Forum Entry Page. |
| |
 It has links to the Forum, Announcements and Feature List. |
| |
 It also features the Register, Login and Logout Buttons. |
| |
 Home.html |
| |
  Is the default page (static HTML) for any new frames when modifying the Forum Layout. |
| |
 Please refer to Edit Forum Layout section for more on this subject. |
| |
 Index.html |
| |
  This is the Forum default Entry Page. |
| |
  It combines the static Nav.html with two dynamic HTML pages: |
| |
 Announcements and New Messages List. |
| |
  The Forum's Entry Page is tailored to each User: |
| |
 Announcements are Group Specific and the Message Lists are User Specific. |
| |
|
| |
Edit Default file |
| |
You may either manually edit a file or upload a replacement file. |
| |
 Important: |
| |
Default files cannot be renamed nor deleted. |
| |
If you have changed your Forum Color, please refer to the section below for important information. |
| |

| |
Manually Edit |
| |
1. Make the appropriate edits in the [Manual Editing] text input area. |
| |
 Tip: Click the Preview button to view your edits. |
| |
2. Click . |
| |
 A confirmation message is displayed that the file has been saved. |
| |
|
| |
Upload Replacement File |
| |
1. Enter file path in the [Upload Replacement File] text field. |
| |
or click the Browse button to find the file in your hard drive or Network. |
| |
 Important: The replacement file MUST be same file type. |
| |

| |
If you made a mistake you can correct it with the following methods: |
| |
Revert to Previous Version |
| |
1. Check the [Restore Backup] checkbox. |
| |
2. Click  |
| |
 Reverts the file to the last saved version in the server. |
| |
Restore Original File |
| |
1. Check the [Restore Original] checkbox. |
| |
2. Click  |
| |
 Reverts the file to the default (original) version in the server. |
| |

| |
Editing Default Files after Customizing Forum Color |
| |
The static html files, Home.html and Nav.html are generated automatically when the Forum is created. |
| |
  If you change the Forum Color Scheme, the default static pages' Color Scheme remains unchanged. |
| |
  To ensure the static pages colors match the new color scheme you should either |
| |
a. Check Restore Original File to regenerate the file with the new color scheme. |
| |
Choose this option if you have made no other edits to the file. |
| |
b. Manual Edit or Upload Replacement File with appropriate color edits. |
| |
Choose this option if you have made previous edits to this file. |
| |

| |
Add New Files |
| |
You can add new files to the server. |
| |
 Any file formats are allowed. |
| |
However, be sure to give your file the correct filename extension!!! |
| |
 You may upload files one at a time. |
| |
 All files will be placed in the root directory of your Forum. |
| |
This directory is accessible through your web browser at: /YourForumName. |
| |
Notes: |
| |
 Remember to upload all images that appear in the new files. |
| |
 Images are in the same directory as the HTML files. |
| |

| |

 By default, the file will be saved under the same name as uploaded. |

 If you wish to rename the file, enter an |

alternate name in the [Alternate Filename] text field. |

Add a Blank File |
| |
1. Leave the [Upload New File] text field blank. |
| |
2. Enter a new filename in the [Alternate Filename] field. |
| |

Edit Newly Added files (Non-Default) |
| |
 You may edit, rename, replace or delete non-default files. |
| |
Important: |
| |
 HTML files can be edited directly in the Editing Frame. |
| |
 Image files need to be edited in an image-editing application, |
| |
Upload the edited file to replace the existing image file. |
| |
 Other filetypes, such as Pdf, Excell, Word, etc. appear as links in the Editing Frame. |

Click to launch the application, and upload the edited file to replace it. |
| |
