Identifying your floppy Drive |

OEM production models are not listed in this knowledge base; you need to contact the manufacturer of the piece of equipment where your floppy drive was originally installed in order to receive information for repair, replacement, and availability. |
All TEAC 1" high
3.5" floppy disk drives have the prefix FD235,
which denotes the size of the disk, 3.5" drive.
The next two characters
in the model nomenclature denote the density support of the device:
HF: Dual density: 720K and 1.44MB
The next character denotes the series information:
FD235HF-C-xxx
FD235HF-B-xxx
FD235HF-A-xxx
FD235HF-8-xxx
FD235HF-7-xxx
The last three
digits denote the color of the bezel:
240 / 540:Dark beige (AT)
291:Light beige (PS2)
429 / 529 / 107:Black
110:Pearl white
If your drive is not yet installed, you can identify it by its model label:
a.
The FD235HF-B and C series models have the label located in the top cover
of the drive.
b. All other FD235xxx models have the label located by the 34-pin
connector in the back of the drive.

If your drive is already installed in your system, then you may find the model number in your invoice. Please keep your invoice in a safe place since this is your proof of purchase and you will be required to send us a copy for repair and/or replacement.
