Download Drivers

Please download the compressed file 05pu_mac.sit. You need the StuffIt Expander software to open this file. Also, the Expander is located in your Mac OS 8.5 Installation Disc under \Software Installer\Internet Access\Parts\Aladdin\StuffIt Expander.

You may also download a copy of this freeware program from the following url:

http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/expander_mac_login.html

For your convenience, one of the decompressed files is the installation guide in PDF format (FD05PU.PDF).  You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print this file.

Do not install the TEAC drivers. This OS version requires a special driver for USB Mass Storage devices.

The USB Mass Storage Driver Support version 1.3.5 is available from apple's web site:

http://www.info.apple.com/support/downloads.html

Search for the USB Mass Storage Driver Support 1.3.5, and follow the instructions for download and installation.

Once the drivers are installed, connect the USB interface cable from the FD05PUB into the USB port in your Mac, or into a self-powered HUB. Remember, a floppy disk icon will be mounted in your desktop until a 1.44MB Mac or PC formatted disk is inserted in the FD05PUB.

OS 9.0, 9.02, 9.03, 9.04, 9.1, and 9.2 users

Do not install the TEAC drivers. The FD05PUB uses the embedded drivers in the operating system. Therefore, just connect the USB interface cable from the FD05PUB into the USB port in your Mac, or into a self-powered HUB; insert a 1.44MB Mac or PC formatted disk and start using your new FD05PUB.
