Chaplet Halikan LA-30A

A 286 portable similar to Toshiba 3200, but with backlit LCD instead of plasma and with battery pack, allowing it to work without power source for 1-1,5 hours (charging time: 3 hours when computer is off, 10 hours when on). It has ISA slots, but battery pack forced power supply to be external. It has 3.5" 1.44MB floppy disk drive and 40MB Conner hard disk. Graphics is also cheaper - It's CGA with Hercules compatibility, but LCD is not Hercules-compatible so only part of picture is displayed (Alt-left and right arrows scroll it).

Chaplet was Taiwanese computer manufacturer bought in 1999 by Toshiba. They released few notebooks with 286 and 386. Their last notebooks had 486 processors.

Well, this thing just boots to DOS. It should have a setup in ROM in which you can set settings, but in my unit it's damaged so it hangs when setting HDD geometry - it's needed to specify it using different software from DOS boot disk.

CMOS battery is in rear part, near ISA slots, it must be replaced or it'll leak.
