The Dornier Do335A-6 "Ameisenbaer" (Anteater)

Although technically called the "Pfeil", the pilots
preferred "Anteater" because of the plane's unusual looking
nose.

The Dornier Do335A-6 was a nightfighter version of the
Do335A-1. As such, the internal weapons bay was dropped in
favor of an additional fuel tank. The drag of the radar
array and the additional weight of the increased fuel tanks
decreased performance about 10%. Top speed was 428 mph at
17,390 feet. Ceiling was 34,100 feet, cruising range 1,305
miles. The A-6 was armed with a single 30mm Mk103 cannon
through the propellor hub (70 rpg) and two MG151 15mm cannon
in the upper cowling (200 rpg).

The electronics suite included the following:
FuG217J-2 Neptun intercept radar, which featured variable
          wavelengths to "sidestep" jamming
FuG101a Radio altimeter
FuG25a IFF (Identification Friend or Foe)
FuG125a Blind landing receiver
FuG16zy Radio/Transmitter

The plane also included such features as armored ejection
seats and flame dampers for the exhausts.

The weapons choices allow you to fly the Do335A-6 in one of
three configurations:
Basic nightfighter (historical)
Schraege Musik equipped (hypothetical)
Night Intruder (hypothetical)

To utilize the "Schraege Musik" weapon, simply press "G" to
go to the upper turret, where a twin 20mm MG151 weapon has
been installed in a fixed, forward firing mount. You can
place them on autofire or fire manually while flying
underneath an enemy bomber.

To utilize the Night Intruder role, merely select bombs as a
weapons option.

To fly the historical version, simply ignore the Schraege
Musik guns and don't pick bombs.
