SCRAMBLE FROM MUNICH

Careful study of the combat performance
characteristics of the Me 262 jet
revealed that it was most vulnerable
during take-off and landing. The Eighth
Air Force subsequently developed the
tactic of sending fighters ahead of the
bomber stream to catch the jets taking
off from likely airfields.

YOUR MISSION

You and three other Me 262s from JV 44
are just about to take off from Munich
airfield. Your orders for today are to
attack the B-17 formation flying to-
ward the Augsburg aircraft factory.
Unfortunately, you see two P-51s on
the horizon. Take off quickly to avoid
being strafed by them. After all of
them are shot down, proceed to the
bombers, climbing to approximately
20 000 feet.
