Gunnery Practice

British air gunners were the
unsung heroes of the night
bomber offensive during World
War Two. It was they who strained
their eyes out the glazings of
their gun turrets, hoping to spot
a German night fighter before he
spotted them. They dispatched
hundreds of nachtjagers, and
forced many hundreds more off
attack runs, saving themselves
and fellow crew members.
In this training mission, you
are to place your Lancaster on
autopilot and man the gun po-
sitions. Waves of three different
"generations" of German night
fighters will attack you: Bf110G-4s,
He219A-7s, and Me262B-2as. Defend
yourself and the formation as you
practice switching between nose,
dorsal, and tail turrets. You
cannot be damaged, and you have
unlimited ammo.
