KNIGHTSBRIDGE AFTERMATH

During June 1942, the large tank battle
at Knightsbridge resulted in a German
victory, and John Waddy, of No. 260
Squadron, was finishing bombing and
strafing the advancing Germans southeast
of El Adem. Heading home at 3,000 feet,
his number 2 was shot suddenly downed by
some Bf109Fs, unseen previously by
anyone. Finding himself in a perfect
firing position, he fired a few rounds,
then his guns jammed. He jinked his way
back to his home field, and later counted
124 bullet holes in his Kittyhawk.

MISSION

Attack the German Brigade laager site
near El Adem with your Kittyhawks before
they can further exploit their current
success. Be on the watch for Bf109s on
the way home.
