TimeTracker/LX product was designed for the professional who bills customers by time, or anyone who has a need to track project time, or even for those of us who are constantly amazed about where the time has disappeared.

TimeTracker/LX was built for the HP 100/200/700LX Palmtop and has the "look and feel" of the native applications in the HP palmtop, by using PAL (the Palmtop Applications Library). The entire application was built and tested on the Palmtop.

TimeTracker/LX keeps track of the time it takes to do work. The data about your work, such as date, starting and ending times, duration, activity type, client and projects, is stored in records, similar to the entries you know from the Phonebook and the database applications. There are many ways to view the collected information. The record is the lowest unit and requires minimal keying (but extensive memos can also be added if needed). Activity types and projects are selected from lists (much like the lists of items in the other palmtop applications.) Adjustments are possible to every piece of information.

Categories may be attached to activity types to enhance the way one can "slice" the database. Filters also allow viewing and manipulating only certain kinds of data.

A built-in reporting "language" is also included to add sophistication to the presentation of reported data. Several report format samples are included with the product. Report formats can range from finished pages that can be mailed to a client, to "report" files that may be fed into Lotus 123 spreadsheets or imported as RTF-formatted files by many wordprocessors.

On-the-fly summations and totals based on projects, categories, and records are obtained at a touch of two or three keys.

The program was authored by Andreas Garzotto, and tested by three groups of beta testers. The program incorporates PAL, the Palmtop Application Library, coordinated by Gilles Kohl, and authored by several very gifted programmers.
