TITLE:  Manhattan P and V with ODP Upgrade 
 
 
SUMMARY 
 
   When an Intel OverDrive processor (ODP) is installed in a Manhattan  
   P or V series file server, certain procedures must be observed to  
   ensure a successful upgrade.  See the procedures below. 
 
   This issue applies to all Manhattan P and V systems. 
 
 
NOTES 
 
   Use the following procedure when installing the ODP: 
 
   1. Remove the CPU card. 
   2. Remove the original processor from its socket. 
   3. Install the ODP in the CPU card's Socket 5 (the socket with a
      locking lever) upgrade socket. 
   4. Install the jumper E3 (labeled 'Dual CPU') if present. 
   5. Reinstall the CPU card. 
 
   Observe proper Electro Static Discharge (ESD) procedures while  
   performing the above procedure or any other service requiring  
   opening the system chassis. 
 
   It is not possible to run ODP upgrades in a dual processor 
   configuration.  The ODP upgrade processors do not incorporate 
   Multi Processing (MP) support. 
 
   The server hardware does not cause this limitation.
