INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN # 0008 7-12-96 TITLE: MS CDCHNGER.EXE Torisan CDR_C36 CD-ROM SUMMARY Preparing Advantage! 800 series computers with the Torisan CDR_C36 CD-ROM changer to use Microsoft's CDCHNGER.EXE in Windows 95. This issue applies to Advantage 800-series systems equipped with Torisan CDR_C36 CD-ROM changers. NOTES On April 25, 1996 Microsoft released a new protected-mode driver which allows CD-ROM changers to display a drive letter for each of the three CD-ROMS in the cartridge. Before installing CDCHNGER.EXE, you will need to remove the Smart CD Manager and the protected-mode drivers for the CD-ROM. To remove the necessary files, type the following commands at the DOS prompt: DEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\SCDMGRT3.VXD DEL C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\SMARTCD MANAGER.LNK DELTREE C:\SCDMGR95 DELTREE C:\WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\SMARTCD MANAGER To install CDCHNGER.EXE, obtain the file from Microsoft's web site at the following location: http://www.microsoft.com/kb/softlib/mslfiles/cdchnger.exe In Windows 95, run CDCHNGER.EXE and follow the instructions on the screen.
