============================================================================= AST RESEARCH, INC. SOFTWARE BULLETIN #0050F 08-08-90 ============================================================================= AST-3270 COAXII CUT SOFTWARE RELEASE 2.10 Production release version 2.10 Available August, 1990 Part Number: 910368-001 5.25 inch diskette 1 of 2 910368-002 5.25 inch diskette 2 of 2 910368-031 3.5 inch diskette 1 of 1 This release includes all problem fixes and enhancements of all previous releases including the following: PROBLEM FIXES: - The terminal screen was not updated properly under an application running under "ISPF Dialog Manager". The screen would remain blank after an update from the host until the "ESCAPE" key was pressed. (PR#A60034) - The COAX II CUT product would not function in a system configured under the IBM OS/2 Extended Edition operating system. (PR#A60043) Production release version: 2.0 Available August, 1989 Part Number: 910368-001 5.25 inch diskette 1 of 2 910368-002 5.25 inch diskette 2 of 2 910368-031 3.50 inch diskette 1 of 1 Note: The same version of COAX II CUT software is now used for both standard bus and micro channel systems. PROBLEM RESOLVED: - Customer requires ability to remap keyboard to support - key sequence. This sequence is needed to move between CUT sessions. (PR#A60011) - Keyboard mapping for the Keytronics 3270 keyboard is not defining keys correctly. Arrow keys do not function after hot-keying back to DOS mode. (PR#A60018) - User is having difficulty with an application that writes to the screen. They cannot change the display attributes of certain fields as with a real terminal. (PR#A60027) - The "Pause" key does not function correctly with COAXII software. When this key is pressed while in DOS mode, the user cannot then hot-key back to the emulation screen. (PR#A60031) - User requires information regarding the use of the presentation services API. (PR#A60033) - This version of the software supports automatic sign-on and macro keystroke features. (PR#A60009) - The IBM PS/2 Model 55SX system is now supported by COAX II CUT. (PR#A61018) - The Coax II adapter would not operate in the AT&T 6300 system. The system would lock up when the Coax II CUT emulation program was loaded. (PR#A60036) - The cursor remains at the position which it was placed in emulation mode upon switching back to DOS mode, instead of being positioned at it's correct location on the DOS screen. This problem began occurring when the controller was changed from a 3274 to a 3174. (PR#A60037) - When executing the "3270LOAD.EXE /AST" emulation program the system hangs. This occurred with the COAX II/A micro channel adapter and the COAX II/A CUT software installed in an IBM PS/2 Model 55SX system. (PR#A61017) - When attempting to execute the 3270LOAD.EXE program the error message "Must Run PC Loader Version" is generated. This occurred with the COAX II/A adapter and software when installed in an IBM PS/2 Model 70E61 system. (PR#A61019) Production Release Version 1.30 Available February, 1989 Part Number: 910206-001 5.25 inch diskette 1 of 2 910206-002 5.25 inch diskette 2 of 2 910206-031 3.50 inch diskette PROBLEMS RESOLVED: - Coax CUT now supports multiplexer environments. User had been having problems when attached to an Astrocom Squeezeplexer. The user was getting X-COMM 209 errors with the Coax II board connected to this device, which in turn was connected to an IBM 3274 Model 41A controller. (PR#A60017) - Improper operation of the number pad and caps lock keyboard functions. When hot-keying from emulation to DOS application, the user would find that for the first keystroke the number pad key would function as a cursor movement key, then revert to numeric function on the next keystroke. This condition would alternate back and forth. Also, the caps lock function would be in the opposite state shown by the LED indicator after hot-keying from emulation to DOS. (PR#A60019) - Coax II Cut software would eliminate high intensity character attributes from any DOS application that had them set. (PR#A60025) - Upon hot-keying from emulation to DOS, the user finds that the number keypad does not function correctly after issuing a key sequence which involves the ALT key. For instance, after issuing a command of a macro in Lotus 1-2-3 (-), the numeric keypad does not function correctly. Also, the keystroke may begin to repeat itself continuously. (PR#A61002) ENHANCEMENTS: - Support has been added for OS/2 Extended Edition. Production Release Version 1.2 Available April, 1988 Part Number: 910206-001 5.25" diskettes 910206-031 3.50" diskettes ENHANCEMENTS: - Ability to configure IBM PS API vector address. This prevents conflicts with other software (i.e., Novell Netware) which may require the default vector address "7A". This new option is under "General Session Options" in the configuration program "3270cnf.exe". - Ability to start up in DOS instead of emulation. This makes it easier for users to set up their autoexec.bat file to load all necessary software without ever having to be aware of what software is being loaded. This new option is under "General Sessions Option" in the configuration program "3270cnf.exe". - This version now supports 26 international keyboards. - This version supports the FTSII (IBM PS API) File Transfer Software. This file transfer supports an entry level TSO and CMS version requiring no extra host software and the IBM Send/Receive software for TSO, CMS, and CICS requiring IND$FILE or equivalent on the host. PROBLEMS RESOLVED: - CoaxII will now support IRMAlink FT/TSO and FT/CMS. - Ability to configure a single "hot key". - Loader problem with AST Premium/386 and PS/2 Model 80. Initial Release Version 1.0 Available January, 1988 This is an initial production release.
