============================================================================= AST RESEARCH, INC. SOFTWARE BULLETIN #0086 05/07/90 ============================================================================= AST-3270/SNA II SOFTWARE RELEASE 1.20 Production Release 1.20 Available May, 1990 Part number: 910378-001 5.25 inch diskette 1 of 3 910378-002 5.25 inch diskette 2 of 3 910378-003 5.25 inch diskette 3 of 3 910378-031 3.50 inch diskette 1 of 2 910378-032 3.50 inch diskette 2 of 2 (Note: New part numbers with this release of software) Includes all problem fixes and enhancements of all previous versions, plus the following: PROBLEMS RESOLVED: - The 3270CNF.EXE configuration program would not allow subsequent changes to be made to the SNA II configuration once changes had been made to the "Printer entry strings" in the configuration program. The system would lock up if attempting to use a configuration file made after these printer strings were once modified. (PR#B54001) - The password for SNA II software would sometimes be visible on the screen as it was entered, even though it should be invisible. (PR#B54002) - Print data sent to a printer attached to a system running SNA II emulation would be corrupted if the data was 132 columns wide. Spaces embedded in the data would be dropped by the emulation software causing forms to be misaligned. (PR#B54003) - "Pan-Link" software from Pan Sophic would not operate with SNA II. Executing this software while under emulation would cause the system to lock up. (PR#B54004) - When using the "Enhanced" keyboard file with SNA II, the number pad "5" key would not function consistently. (PR#B54005) - While operating under emulation, the keyboard would lock up if the "END" key were pressed. The host would be operating under CICS, and the terminal screen would be clear. (PR#B54008) - Emulation software would not receive a full screen of text from the host (operating under CICS, with NCP 4.1). (PR#B54009) - When attempting to run the "3270SCP.EXE" program with SNA II installed in an IBM PS/2 Model 55SX, the error messages "Unable to determine system type" and "Initialization aborted" would be generated. (PR#B65001) ENHANCEMENTS: - Beginning with this version of the software, only one set of software is required to support either the standard bus or micro channel versions of the product. Previously, each adapter had it's own version of the SNA II software.
