This version of EISACU is universal and backward compatible with all EISA
systems from the SMP to the desktop and with all versions of BIOS.  The file
resides on the AST-BBS under the file name "EISAC283.EXE".  The file is self
extracting and will download onto two individual diskettes.  The first will
contain the EISACU, the second will contain the ISA configuration files.

    PROBLEMS RESOLVED:

    - Fixed the problem in detecting module.

    - Fixed warning message displayed if module existed but its CFG file was
      not installed.

    - Fixed the detection of 128M on P5 processor board when setting the
      default memory size in the "Processor Board Memory" field.

    - Added new CFG file !AST0401.CFG for the SE motherboard.

    - Added support for the P5 CPU board.

    - Incorporated all changes and fixes in release 2.70, release 2.80, and
      release 2.81.

This release is required for support of the Power Premium and SE systems using
a 2.00 BIOS (see Software Bulletin #0116 for additional information).
It does not support the AST Manhattan SMP systems.

    PROBLEMS RESOLVED:

    - Removed the option "Memory above 16MB" on all memory expansion board
      CFG files, and always set the "limited access to 16MB" option to
      disable, to prevent memory size errors during POST.

Beginning with this release, the AST Manhattan SMP system is supported.

    ENHANCEMENTS:

    - Added new option "I/O Bus Refresh" for SMP.

    - Incorporated new EISA kernel from MCS supporting EISA specification
      3.12 which allows Compaq EISA Token Ring adapters to be configured with
      AST EISACU (PR#C05009).

    - Detected and displayed error message if a bus master adapter is put on
      a non-bus master slot.

    - Added CFG file for the new Cupid memory board (part number 202387-005).

    - Displayed the starting address and size for each extended memory block.

    PROBLEMS RESOLVED:

   - Resolved a problem whereby it appeared that the parallel port could not
     be disabled.  If the parallel port was configured for I/O address "3BC",
     then the field changed to "DISABLE", the next time the EISA
     Configuration Utility was run, the field still displayed "3BC" instead
     of "DISABLED".

500934-XXX), these utilities are for use with the Premium SE 4/33 (part number
500887-XXX) and Premium SE 4/50 (part number 500888-XXX) with system board
(part number 202472-001) installed in them.

    PROBLEMS RESOLVED:

   - Fixed problem of 80487SX co-processor not being detected by EISA
     Configuration Utility.

    ENHANCEMENTS:

    - Added configuration file !AST0281.CFG to accommodate the Premium SE
      system board (part number 202472-001).

    - Added support for the 486/50 processor card (part number 202465-002).

Premium Flash BIOS part number 236801-002 release 1.02 (BIOS update diskette

    ENHANCEMENTS:

    - Added HIMEM.SYS version 3.07 to address shared memory or memory-mapped
      I/O above 1MB on EISA systems.
