Reduced the code size of BIOS by changing several long jump instructions to short jump ones. NOTE Revision 1.06 is not posted to AST's On-Line forums because it requires a silicon upgrade to the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly. The upgrade can not be completed in the field. For those customers requiring the fixes provided with revision 1.06, AST provides the 1.06 upgrade by exchanging the IOSM PCB. Contact AST's Technical Support at (800) 727-1278 and request a Return Authorization Number (RAN). Production Release: 1.05 Available: August, 1995 Release 1.05 of the Manhattan Flash BIOS Image provides the following problem resolutions and enhancements: PROBLEMS RESOLVED Changed the DMA burst mode to resolve a OS/2 overrun problem. Changed the system information to report the correct CPU speed and type. ENHANCEMENTS Support for 60 ns SIMMs. Support for the 256 MB memory board with the following features: a. Allows different type of SIMMs to be plugged into the same memory board. The board sizes each bank of memory and configures hardware accordingly. b. Allows both 64 MB and 256 MB memory boards to be plugged into the same system with any order. NOTE Revision 1.05 is not posted to AST's On-Line forums because it is not compatible with all IOSM PCBs. The upgrade requires a silicon upgrade to the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly. The upgrade can not be completed in the field. For those customers requiring the bug fixes, AST provides the 1.06 upgrade by exchanging the IOSM PCB. Production Release: 1.04 Available: August, 1993 Release 1.04 of the Manhattan Flash BIOS Image is the last official BIOS release for the Manhattan SMP that will be placed on AST's BBS. File SMP21.EXE can be found on AST's BBS (817) 230-6850 in the Manhattan SMP section. AST's BBS supports modem speeds up to 28.8k bps. Repaired a floppy drive type setting problem. The floppy could not be set properly if the CMOS setting for floppy drives was out of range. ENHANCEMENT Provides support for the MPX Pentium processor board. Production Release 1.03 Available March, 1993 ENHANCEMENT This release includes internal system enhancements. NOTE Release 1.03 of this software is located in the Manhattan SMP section of AST's BBS and is titled "SMP12.EXE". Production Release 1.02 Available March, 1993 PROBLEM RESOLVED Repaired a bug that caused the first key to be lost when entering a password. Production Release 1.01 Available December, 1992 PROBLEM RESOLUTION Repaired a bug that would not allow ROM setup to properly save the parallel port settings.
