===================================================================== Last Revised AST RESEARCH, INC. SOFTWARE BULLETIN # 0211 01/26/98 ===================================================================== TITLE: EISACU AST PCI/EISA-Based Systems,v1.09 FILENAME(S) / PART NUMBER(S) / DESCRIPTION(S): 11371040.EXE SUMMARY File 11371040.EXE contains version 1.09, disk 1 of 1, of the EISA Configuration Utility (EISACU) for the Manhattan P and V systems. This revision of EISACU works with AST PCI/EISA systems that have Plug-n-Play (PnP) support built into the BIOS. This update applies to all the Manhattan P and V systems. RESOLUTIONS Version 1.09 includes the following issue resolutions: Uses BIOS call B406 to verify IRQ settings with BIOS versions 1.12 and earlier which meet Revision 2.0 specification. It will no longer try to enable a function that has been disabled by the BIOS. ENHANCEMENTS N/A PREVIOUS RELEASE(S) Version 1.07 contained the following problem resolutions and enhancements: Fixed a problem that the secondary IDE adapter could not be set when it was set to AUTO. Added Configuration Manager DWCFGMG.SYS 1.43. Added CFG file for Creative Vibra 16 Model CT2800 (!ISA0001.CFG). Added !AST1201.CFG and ASTPCI3.OVL to support Shasta S. Moved the system BIOS resources from !AST0681.CFG to !AST8250.CFG. Previous releases also included the following resolutions and enhancements: Made change to !AST0581.CFG (Manhattan P/V) to include address 800h-8ffh (addresses to access CMOS) in the system resource to avoid conflict with embedded or external PCI devices. Incorporated MCS version 3.01 that fixed problems with Plug-and-Play (PnP) cards with dependent functions such as IBM Token Ring PnP card. In CFG and OVERLAY files, the resource I/O address 3F6h was moved from Onboard Floppy Disk Controller to Onboard IDE controller. System board resources I/O addresses 800h-8FFh and C00h were added in the CFG file so that they were not allocated to the PCI devices. Resource information can now be printed even if the boards in the system do not contain switch or jumper statements. Added support for IDE. Added support for new Plug-n-Play BIOS calls. Add support for Manhattan P and V systems. Supported the new serial port configurations.
