Files 11281035.EXE and 11281036.EXE can be found on AST's BBS (817) 230-6850. AST's BBS supports modem speeds up to 28.8k bps. The above file will also be posted on: CompuServe Go ASTSUPPORT AST Worldwide Web Site http://www.ast.com This release is intended to produce two Percepta diskettes to be installed from Windows. The diskettes include the executable for the Manhattan G system only. Disk 1 contains compressed files for the distributed DLLs and a setup program. Disk 2 contains the main executable for the Manhattan G system. This 1.20 version of Percepta is intended to add new features and to fix problems with the previous release, version 1.12. PROBLEMS RESOLVED A problem was fixed which produced intermittent General Protection faults on the Windows Management Console. This problem only occurred when a Percepta window was closed quickly before all the data in that window was updated. Fixed the problem with horizontal scrolling. New Features Alert handling The Alert Handler was improved by simplifying the selections for alert handling. The alert setup window was improved to allow simple selections to enable any combination of error logging and alert pop-up windows. System board setup screen In the system board setup screen, a new option was added to display the CD boot option. Related Host Agents This new management console software is best used in combination with the latest Percepta 1.21 Host Agents software (AST p/n 911580-036) which should be installed on every AST server that you want to monitor. Production Release: 1.12 Available: March, 1995 This 1.12 version of Percepta is intended to add new features and to fix problems with the previous release, version 1.11. This software is intended for the Manhattan G series systems only. A separate part number is used for other server products. Alert Handling The alert setup window was improved to prevent text from being clipped on some low resolution screens. Disk Array Information This release fixes a problem with attempting to view System drive information when the system has no disk array. Serial and Parallel Port Information This release fixes several problems with display and setting the configuration for the serial and parallel ports. Disk Drive Information This release fixes a problem with the capacity display of 2 Gigabyte disk drives and HBA information when multiple HBAs of the same type are installed. Improved Help File This release includes a new help file which has additional subjects for new screens. It also is improved by providing information on the alert handler. New Features AST PCI Disk Array This release includes support for the PCI disk array. A new Instrumented Object file called ASTDFS must be loaded on the server. Plug-n-Play Information A new Instrumented Object module in ASTSYS provides Plug-n-Play information from the server. The Plug-n-Play information is included with the card survey information. Dynamic Window Sizing This version of Percepta allows windows to be resized, minimized, maximized, moved and other standard window manipulation tasks expected of typical windows. Errata A rare intermittent General Protection fault occurs with Windows where the Management Console software is running. If you close and open windows too rapidly you may experience this problem. No damage will occur and no side effects can be expected. You may need to restart Windows to continue, but the application will stop.
