SUMMARY

   File 05558310.EXE contains version 1.05 of the Bravo MS system 
   flash BIOS. This update applies to the following systems: 501772, 
   501774, 501777, 501778, 501814, 501815, and 501860

   
RESOLUTIONS

   Improve IDE performance. The SETIDE utility can be used to optimize
   performance - use with care, some operating systems such as 
   Windows NT and OS/2 do not work properly with 32 bit mode turned ON.
   
   Fixed IDE controller auto detection section.
   
   Changed default setting for Audio to be "built-in."   


ENHANCEMENTS

   Changed IDE controllers so that they can be separately disabled 
   and enabled.   


PREVIOUS RELEASE(S)

   Allows use of hard drive controller adapters.
   
   Resolved intermittent system hangs when sound is being used.
   
   Added full support for IDE Mode 3 specification.
   
   Serial ports supported under Win95.
   
   Supports two manufacturer's drives on a single IDE channel
   
   Windows 95 no longer hangs system during hardware detect.
   
   Disabling both serial ports will no longer produce conflict message.
   
   Video FRAM buffer is now reported correctly, was reported as only 
   16 KB in size, is actually 16MB.
   
   Windows 95 no longer detects as a portable system.
   
   Resolved erroneous memory test errors .
   
   Windows installation will no longer cause monitor to enter 
   power-saving mode. 
   
   Added ability to support parity SIMMs.
   
   The video BIOS was updated.
   
   Fixed the audio not working properly. When trying to configure 
   Audio using ICU, the system may hang.


NOTES

   Subsequent BIOSes to version 1.05, including version 1.07 and 
   later, are split into two separate part numbers: BIOS for systems 
   with audio (905589-032 or later) and BIOS for systems with no 
   audio (905591-032 or later).
   
   These BIOSes are available from any of AST's On-Line! services.
