ENHANCEMENTS

   Version 2.53 contains the following enhancement:
   
   Added the install section for the PRO/100 WFM PCI adapter.   


PREVIOUS RELEASE(S)

   Version 2.4 contained the following issue resolutions:
   
   Changed from National Semi 840A to Intel 82555 physical layer 
   chip.
   
   Changed from B-step to C-step 82557 Mac which incorporated the 
   following:
   
       1. Support of the SubSystem ID and SubSystem Vendor 
          ID PCI configuration fields for PC97 compliance.
   
       2. Improved PCI electrical response to avoid voltage
          reflection anomaly.

   Version 2.30 contained the following issue resolutions and 
   enhancements:
   
   Changes from v1.00 to v2.03
   
   Change the National Semiconductor physical interface component 
   from the DP83840 to DP83840A.  The DP83840A includes 
   modifications to update standards compliance from IEEE 802.3u/D2 
   to IEEE 802.3u/D5.3, improved power management, and other 
   enhancements and corrections from its predecessor.
   
   573 to 373
   This is an 8-bit latch which supports the boot ROM upgrade 
   option. The 373 part is a functional equivalent.
   
   Move from two clock sources to one. The addition of a single 
   50MHz oscillator provides greater accuracy and better aligns the 
   PRO/100B adapter with National Semiconductor's revised design 
   recommendations.
   
   New Drivers
   The 2.5 PRO/100 driver release includes modifications to the DOS 
   and Windows diagnostic software to accommodate a change in link 
   time found in the new physical interface component.  This 
   software modification is fully backward compatible with older 
   models of the PRO/100B, but the new drivers are required on 
   adapters with the DP83840A physical interface component.


NOTES

   This diskette is used to update the BIOS for Intel EtherExpress. 
   To install this driver, please read the installation procedure on 
   the diskette under INFO\MS directory.
