   This is the initial release of this software.


NOTES

   AST provides a diskette (file 14617031.EXE) along with the 
   restore CD that is labeled "AST System Restore CD." 
   
   When attempting to restore the system using this CD, this 
   function presents three options to the user:
   
   1. Operating System ONLY Restore with or without 
      formatting the hard drive.
   
   2. Operating System Restore, including all the 
      applications provided by AST, with or without 
      formatting the hard drive.
   
   3. Installation of different Operating System device 
      drivers. The scratch file area provided enables the 
      user to copy these files to diskettes.
   
   
   ATTENTION
   
   In the Restore CD options, if the user selects "Restore OS and 
   drivers with Format", the system attempts to run the McAfee 
   anti-virus program SCANPM.EXE and LDISCAN.EXE programs. However, 
   since no applications were restored, these programs are no longer 
   on the hard drive.  
   The user may reinstall these applications from diskette, if 
   diskettes were made from Microsoft Create System Disks. 
   
   To avoid duplicate lines in AUTOEXEC.BAT, remove the SCANPM.EXE 
   and LDISCAN.EXE lines from file AUTOEXEC.BAT before reinstalling 
   the software.
   
   For additional instructions, see the Restore CD package included 
   with the Restore CD.
