SUMMARY

   File 13707031.EXE contains version 1.00 of the year 2000 DOS TSR 
   program used to manually adjust the real time clock on some 
   systems, to reflect the proper date at the turn of the century.
   
   This software applies to AST systems introduced prior to April 
   1996 running the DOS 6.x, Windows 3.x, and Windows 95 operating 
   systems.

   
RESOLUTIONS

   When the system is  powered OFF prior to midnight December 31, 
   1999, and then turned back ON January 1, 2000, the internal clock 
   will be set to 1980. This TSR file will continuously check the 
   real time clock in your system, and at the turn of the century, 
   it will manually adjust the real time clock to reflect the proper 
   date.
   
   For those running Windows NT:
   
   The Windows NT operating system (Version 3.51 with
   Service Pack 5, Version 4.0, and later releases) detects and 
   fixes the problem automatically.
   
   The next release of Windows 95, code-named "Memphis," will also 
   detect and fix this problem automatically.

NOTES

   To install the file, perform the following:
   
   1. Install the YEAR2000.EXE file, which is 
      included in 13707031.EXE, in the root   
      directory or on a local hard drive.
      
   2. Place the following command in the 
      AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
      
              C:\YEAR2000.EXE
      
   3. Save the changes to the batch file and reboot 
      the system.
   
   At the turn of the century, your system will be automatically 
   updated to the correct date and time. 
   
   Future updates to the program will include other systems and 
   other operating systems, as they become available.
   
   Please look for future updates of this bulletin and its

   forums.
