AST RESEARCH, INC. TECHNICAL BULLETIN #0826 04-22-93 PENEXEC AND PCMCIA CONFIGURATION For some users who wish to add a PCMCIA Modem card, it is important to configure system Setup correctly (select CONFIGURE SYSTEM from Executive Menu after exiting Windows, or, PADMENU from the UTILS directory on the hard drive). In some early systems, a field in Setup called Enable Modem is displayed. This field MUST be set to DISABLE for the PCMCIA Modem to operate correctly. The PCMCIA software driver diskette that was included with the PCMCIA Modem must be version 1.04 or above (AST part number 910717-033). If necessary, contact AST Product Support for information on obtaining the correct version. After installing the PCMCIA driver software, make sure that the output port is configured as COM2. Check your CONFIG.SYS file for the following statement: DEVICE=C:\ASTCCU\CCU.EXE/COMM=2
