                   POWER EXEC SL HOTSWAP BATTERY DISPOSAL


This bulletin provides important information regarding the disposal of  AST
Power Exec nickel-cadmium "Hotswap" batteries:

Nickel-cadmium batteries contain hazardous material and should be recycled.
In some cases, it is illegal to dispose of these batteries as solid waste.
If you replace this battery, dispose of your current battery as follows:

     *   In the United States, send your battery to:

            AST Research, Inc.
            17665 Newhope
            Fountain Valley, CA 92708
            Attn.:  Safety Department

     *   Outside the United States, contact the nearest AST Subsidiary
         for battery disposal instructions.
