                 BRAVO NB/ADVANTAGE EX INTERNAL SERIAL PORT


The System setup for AST Bravo NB and Advantage EX systems contains a choice
to enable or disable the internal (COM 1) serial port.  This setting is for
power management functions only.  If the field is set to "Disable", the
hardware is turned off and power is saved by not checking the port.

However, it is important to note that even though the hardware for COM 1 is
turned off, the system still recognizes the internal serial port as COM 1 and
IRQ 4.  Therefore no other devices can be configured using COM 1 and IRQ 4.
