               POWER EXEC DRIVE BAY ADAPTER AND 8-BIT DEVICES


The Power Exec Drive Bay Adapter can be configured to function as an 8-bit or
16-bit device.  By default, the Drive Bay Adapter is set for 16-bit
operation, however, when installed in a system that has 8-bit video, the
Drive Bay Adapter must be set for 8-bit operation.

By definition, the IBM PC/AT Specification dictates that an 8-bit device
cannot co-exist with a 16-bit device in the same memory region.  Therefore,
if the system's video is an 8-bit device, then the Drive Bay Adapter will
work only if set to 8-bit operational mode.
