AST RESEARCH, INC. SOFTWARE BULLETIN #0877 11-2-93 PREMMIA WITH PARITY ERRORS PROBLEM: Premmia systems experiencing c errors under various environments. CAUSE: The cause of the parity errors has been traced to two separate sources. The first, is a ground bounce within the Texas Instruments TACT84581 chip. The second, is a defect in the Fujitsu 4MB DRAM design (Fujitsu part number 14400A-70L). AFFECTED SYSTEMS: All models of Premmia systems. SOLUTION: BIOS version 1.04 has been released via ECN N114 eliminating the ground bounce. Fujitsu DRAM part number 814400A-70L has been disqualified under AST part number 104000-678.
