             PREMMIA LX FAILS TO DETECT CABLETRON ETHERNET CARD.


PROBLEM:       When the Cabletron Drivers software (part number 2162005 Rev.
               BA, V1.01) is used in the Premmia LX, it does not detect the
               Cabletron Ethernet Card and reports that no DNI adapter is
               available.

CAUSE:         The problem is caused by a conflict in the Advanced CMOS setup
               and the Cabletron base memory and Shadow memory.

SYSTEMS
AFFECTED:      Premmia LX, part number 501288-XXX

SOLUTION:      The problem can be corrected by doing the following:

               ADVANCED CMOS SETUP
               1. Set the DISABLE SHADOW MEMORY SIZE to 16Kb.
               2. Set the DISABLE SHADOW MEMORY BASE to D000h.

               CONFIG.SYS FILE
               1. Change the EMM386.EXE to exclude the memory address from
                  D000 to D07F to protect this memory region.

               ADAPTER
               1. Set the adapter to D000h
