    MEGAHERTZ PCMCIA FAX MODEM NOT FUNCTIONING IN THE BRAVO NOTEBOOK


PROBLEM:        The Megahertz 14,400/14,400bps PCMCIA Gold Series Fax Modem
                with XJack does not function correctly in the Bravo 486/33SX
                Notebook.  Communication errors are experienced when receiving
                or sending a facsimile.

CAUSE:          There is an incompatibility between the Bravo Notebook, the
                Megahertz PCMCIA Fax Modem, and the POWER.EXE file (using
                MS-DOS 6.0 or greater).  This file conflicts with the
                Advanced Power Management (APM) function built into the Bravo
                Notebook.

SYSTEMS         All Bravo 4/33 Notebooks using a Megahertz 14,400/14,400bps
AFFECTED:       PCMCIA Gold Series Fax Modem, Model #XJ2144.

SOLUTION:       Remove the POWER.EXE statement from the CONFIG.SYS file. This
                file is unnecessary because the Advanced Power Management
                features can be enabled in System Setup.
