TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 0988 9-26-94 = KEYBOARD LOCKS IN WINDOWS WITH EXPERT MOUSE SOFTWARE VERSION 4.01 PROBLEM: In Windows, if the Caps Lock or Num Lock key is pressed after loading Expert Mouse software from Kensington Microware, Inc., the keyboard locks up. CAUSE: The file EXVKD1.386 (installed during the Expert Mouse installation in SYSTEM.INI as KEYBOARD=*EXVKD1.386) causes keyboard lock ups. By changing the entry to KEYBOARD=*VKD, the standard Windows virtual keyboard driver, the keyboard no longer locks up. SYSTEMS AFFECTED: All AST systems. SOLUTION: Update to version 4.02 of the Kensington Microware Expert Mouse software to resolve this problem. Call Kensington for a free upgrade at (800)-535-4242 or 415-572-2700.
