                    ASTDU (FRENCH VERSION ONLY) ERROR MESSAGE


PROBLEM:        When running ASTDU in the background (minimized or switched
                with <ALT>+<TAB>), the utility may get an abort or general
                protection fault error message such as:

                       Erreur de l'application (general protection fault:
                       ASTDU.EXE en).

CAUSE:         Incompatibility with ASTDU when running the French version of
               ASTDU minimized or in the background.

SYSTEMS
AFFECTED:       All systems that shipped with the French version of ASTDU.EXE.

SOLUTION:       1. There is nothing wrong with your system.  If the problem
                   occurs, simply press the <Return> key 2-3 times, exit
                   Windows, and then restart Windows.  Run ASTDU in the
                   foreground only.

                2. To run ASTDU in the background, download the
                   self-extracting file <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/MISC/FRAASTDU.EXE">FRAASTDU.EXE</A> from AST's BBS, Systems
                   file area.
                   AST's BBS can be reached by dialing one of the following

                       AST On-Line! U.K. 44-81-847-5389.

		   AST's BBS supports modem speeds up to 28.8k bps.

                   Copy the <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/MISC/FRAASTDU.EXE">FRAASTDU.EXE</A> into your ASTDU directory and execute
                   it.  Replace the existing ASTDU.EXE and ASTDU.DLL files with
                   the new version 2.45.

                   Reboot into Windows.
