TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1017 11-17-94 = PREMMIA MTE CAN NOT FIND SCSI II DEVICE PROBLEM: The Premmia MTE system configured with a DPT 2022 HBA running a Phillips CD- ROM (P/N 501467-001) returns the following error message: "cannot find SCSI II device" CAUSE: Unsupported version of DPT SMARTROM and DPTDLL.SYS driver being used. SYSTEMS AFFECTED: AST PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION 501467-001 DRIVE CD-ROM SCSI OPT MTE/SE/SMP SOLUTION: Upgrade the SMARTROM BIOS to version 002.D5 and the firmware to 5E. The DPTDDL.SYS driver needs to be dated 5-10-94 or newer. 1. Contact Distributed Processing Technologies (DPT) at (407) 830-5522 for BIOS and firmware upgrades. or 2. Download DPTDDL.SYS from DPT's BBS by dialing (407) 831-6432. Copy the file DPTDDL.SYS into the root directory. Install the file DPTDDL.SYS into CONFIG.SYS by editing CONFIG.SYS and adding the statement: DEVICE=C:\DPTDDL.SYS Reboot the system.
