           ASCENTIA 700N REPORTS AN ERROR WHEN BOOTING INTO WINDOWS


PROBLEM:        The Ascentia 700N reports the following error when booting
                into Windows using the Chips and Technology 655XX-Linear
                640X480X16, version 2.60 driver:

                   "ERROR: Video BIOS does not support this mode."

CAUSE:          The BIOS on the Ascentia 700N system lacks the correct
                monochrome drivers.

SOLUTION:       Upgrade the Ascentia 700N BIOS to version 1.02.  Call AST
                Spare Parts at 800-727-1278 and request part # 230536-001.
