              FLICKER ON EXTERNAL MONITOR ATTACHED TO POWERSTATION II


PROBLEM:        There is noticeable flicker on an external (NEC 5FG) monitor
                when attached to an Ascentia 900N system via the Power Station
                II.  When Windows 3.1 or Windows NT 3.5 is run in 1024x768 or
                800x600 resolution, the video appears to be interlaced.  In
                Windows scrollbars, there is a noticeable flicker.

CAUSE:          The BIOS on the Ascentia 900N lacks the proper video drivers.

SOLUTION:       Upgrade the Ascentia 900N BIOS to version 2.01.  File
                528315.EXE can be found on AST's BBS in the Systems file area.
