			   WARM-BOOT PROBLEM ON THE PREMMIA GX P/90


PROBLEM
When connected to a Novell Netware server 3.11, the Premmia GX P/90 system 
does not warm-boot correctly.

CAUSE
The AMD ethernet controller on the Premmia GX P/90 system board writes data 
in the buffer during a warm boot, which causes the system not to warm-boot 
correctly when pressing <Ctrl+Alt+Del>.  An error occurs, the system emits a 
beep code: 3 short beeps, 4 long beeps, 10 short beeps, which indicates a 
system board error.

SOLUTION
Premmia GX P/90 BIOS version 2.04 (P/N 905540-038) disables the AMD controller 
chip during a warm boot, causing the system to operate correctly.  Download 
file 540038.EXE from AST's BBS ("Systems" file area) by dialing the 
following: (817) 230-6850, in the Systems file area.   File 540038.EXE will

Flash the system with BIOS 2.04.  The system will warm-boot correctly.
