			   BRAVO LC 4/33S FAILS TO CONNECT TO IBM RS/6000


PROBLEM
The Bravo LC 4/33S system fails to connect to an IBM RS/6000 through a serial 
port.

CAUSE
The Bravo LC 4/33 system has an integrated 16450 UART on the system board.  
The 16450 UART being used does not have a built-in 16-character Transmit and 
Receive FIFO (first in, first out) buffering mode.

SOLUTION
Install an add-in serial card that contains a 16550A UART for faster 
communications of 9600 or higher. If the integrated serial ports are not being 
used, disable them from the add-in serial card.  The add-in serial card can be 
purchased at a local computer store.
