		    CIRRUS LOGIC 5430/34 VIDEO AND WYSIWYG MODE


PROBLEM

DOS-based programs such as Quatro PRO and DisplayWrite 4 may display illegible 
characters when in the WYSIWYG mode.  

CAUSE

Incompatibility between the method in which WYSIWYG characters are generated 
and the method from which they are displayed.

SYSTEMS AFFECTED
AST PART NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION

All AST systems that use the Cirrus Logic 5430/34 chipset.

SOLUTION

Run TSRFONT.COM which is located in the VGAUTIL subdirectory on the hard disk.  
This program allows DOS-based applications to run the WYSIWYG mode with the 
Cirrus Logic chipset.
