	    PROBLEMS WITH DPT 2122 CONTROLLERS AND BANYAN VINES


PROBLEM

Extremely slow performance has been reported using DPT 2122 controllers under 
Banyan Vines version 5.54, in an AST Manhattan V 5090 system.  System crashes 
occurred after changing DPT firmware from version 5E to version 6B.

CAUSE

DPT firmware 5E, and 6B have problems running under Banyan Vines version 5.54.

SOLUTION

DPT firmware version 7A2 resolves all known problems with the 2122 controllers 
under Vines 5.54. To obtain this firmware call Distributed Processing Technology 
at (407) 830-5522 and ask for Firmware version 7A2 for the 2122 controller.
