	 SMARTERM COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM DISPLAYS GARBAGE ON ASCENTIA 900N


PROBLEM

When running the current version (4.0A) of the SMARTERM 420 for Windows 
communications package on the Ascentia 900N, incoming characters are displayed 
as garbage.

CAUSE

The current version of the SMARTERM 420 for Windows program is not compatible 
with older Ascentia 900N system boards.

SYSTEMS AFFECTED
AST PART NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION

All Ascentia 900N systems with Upper PCBA (P/N 202581-104), revision X24 or 
lower.

SOLUTION

This is not an issue that AST can correct.  Please contact Persoft, Inc. 
Technical Support at 1-608-273-4357 for future software upgrades that may 
address this problem.
