= AST RESEARCH, INC. TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1121 4-4-95 = STORAGE MANAGER AND WINDOWS NT 3.5 SETUP DISK PROBLEM During installation of Microsoft Windows NT operating system, the operating system does not recognize the DPT PCI Disk Array driver disks that have been created by the DPT Storage Manager Utility. CAUSE The Windows NT installation program requires that the file OEMSETUP.INF be located in the root directory of the floppy diskette containing drivers to be used with Windows NT. File OEMSETUP.INF provides information to the operating system, such as the name of the driver and the location of the drivers on the diskette. The Storage Manager program, which is used to configure the PCI Disk Array subsystem, creates the Windows NT driver disk with the OEMSETUP.INF file in a sub-directory of the floppy diskette. The Windows NT program does not recognize the diskette as a valid driver diskette for Windows NT. Use the diskette created by the files downloaded from the BBS, instead of the diskette created by the Storage Manager utility, when installing Windows NT. Part numbers 911709-034 and 911709-035 (file names 709034.EXE and 709035.EXE) can be found on AST's BBS (817) 230-6850, in the "Systems" file area. AST's BBS supports modem speeds up to 28.8k bps.
