	  AST DESKTOPS INSUFFICIENT MEMORY ERROR RUNNING WINDOWS MSD


PROBLEM

When attempting to run Microsoft Windows MSD diagnostics program, the 
Advantage! 570+, Advantage! 570-, and Bravo MS systems may report an 
"insufficient memory error".


CAUSE

There is insufficient memory to load all the drivers.

All AST Bravo MS and Advantage! 570+ and 570- systems. 


SOLUTION

There are two solutions to this problem: 
Solution #1 provides the immediate fix.  
Solution #2 is a more comprehensive, long-term resolution.

1. In the CONFIG.SYS file, load some devices high, such as SETVER.EXE.  
   To do this, edit DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE to read:

	DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE

   and reboot the system.

2. Download the current VGA drivers for Cirrus 543X (Cirrus 1.22). from 
   AST's BBS and follow the README instructions.  The following files

	368318.EXE

   can be found on AST's BBS (817) 230-6850, in the "Systems" file area.
