NO DPMS ON BRAVO MS P/75 AND OS/2 2.11


PROBLEM

The Bravo MS P/75 system may have no Data Power Management Signaling (DPMS) 
with OS/2 2.11 installed.  The hard drive may stop spinning but the display 
may not blank.  The following errors may also occur:

1. Driver installation is not initially possible.  For example, during the 
install procedure, the install "SETUP" could not read the driver disk. 

2. During installation of OS/2.11, before OS/2 2.11 gets complete control and 
discards the video BIOS, the DPMS monitor will blank. 


CAUSE

The APM and VAPM.SYS drivers are not compatible with the Cirrus Logic 
video BIOS.

SOLUTION

The solution to the above mention problem is to eliminate VAPM and APM.SYS 
from the CONFIG.SYS file.
