INSTALLATION OF RACAL-INTERLAN ES 3210 NIC IN 
MANHATTAN P AND V

PROBLEM

When attempting to install and configure Banyan Vines 5.54 on a Manhattan 
5090 server, with a Racal ES3210 (long board) installed, the following error 
message will appear:

"ES3210 EISA Memory Controller Failure in Slot n"


CAUSE

The error message will display when Banyan Vines attempts to load the NIC 
driver.  After reporting the error, the system will continue to load but 
the NIC will be inoperative.  Other NICs will install and work OK.

SOLUTION


Install BIOS version 1.08B and ensure that any Manhattan P 5090 system board 
is at the following revisions:

202620-002             13 or higher
202620-011             All revisions
202620-012             All revisions
