AST PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION 501502-XXX Manhattan P 501500-XXX Manhattan V SOLUTION 1. Install OS/2 2.11 SMP on a partition of 100-300 MB. 2. After the installation is completed, the system will reboot with either an internal system error, hang, or give a message to replace the EBI2.PSD with OS2APIC.PSD. 3. Boot the system off of the OS/2 2.11 "Installation Disk". Insert disk 1 when asked and press the key when prompted to exit to an OS/2 prompt. Switch to the CD-ROM drive and unpack OS2APIC.PSD from BUNDLE by using the following command: "X:\OS2SE21\DISK_2\UNPACK2 ..\DISK_4\BUNDLE A:\ /N:OS2APIC.PSD" where A = floppy drive (destination drive for this file) X = CD-ROM drive (source drive) UNPACK2.EXE is available under OS2SE21\Disk_2 BUNDLE is available under OS2SE21\Disk_4 4. Copy OS2APIC.PSD to the OS/2 directory on your hard drive. 5. Modify the PSD statement in the CONFIG.SYS file, in the root directory, by using an editor such as the DOS Editor. Change the following statement PSD=EBI2.PSD to PSD=OS2APIC.PSD 6. Reboot the system. The system should now recognize both of the processors.
