TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1186 5-16-95 = MANHATTAN P & V SYSTEMS LOCK UP WITH A "SYSTEM ERROR" WHEN THE PCI ETHEREXPRESS PRO 100MBIT CARD IS INSTALLED PROBLEM When booting a Manhattan P or V, the system may lock up indicating a "system error" with the PCI EtherExpress Pro 100Mbit card installed. CAUSE There is a conflict with memory addresses and port addresses using EISACU v3.03 /R1.03 or EISACU v3.04/R1.04 between the Intel EtherExpress and the NCR embedded SCSI controller. SYSTEMS AFFECTED AST PART NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION 501500-XXX Manhattan V system. 501502-XXX Manhattan P system. SOLUTION The current version of the EISA Configuration Utililty (EISACU) v3.06 /R1.06 resolves the problem. To obtain the EISACU, call AST Technical Support at (800) 727-1278, contact the local AST Authorized Service Center, or download file 011371037.EXE from AST's BBS (817) 230-6850, in the "Systems" file area.
