	    ADVANTAGE! ADVENTURE 80XX MODEM FAILURE STARBRIGHT-PLAIN AND 
					   STARBRIGHT-SPEAKERPHONE


PROBLEM

The Advantage! Adventure 80XX system may exhibit a modem failure or the FAX 
may stop in the middle of a transmission.


CAUSE

The diagnostics test may leave the EEPROM in the wrong default condition.

SOLUTION

Using a Terminal Emulation program such as TERMINAL.EXE, enter the 
following commands:

To check a machine for incorrect values on Starbright-Plain and Starbright-
Speakerphone, the commands are:

	   ATZ <Enter>
	   AT&V <Enter>

Look on the second line of the display (after the profile) for \N6 or \N1.  
If the line reads
\N1
the settings are INCORRECT.

The commands for setting the correct settings on Starbright-Plain and 
Starbright-Speakerphone modems are:
   
	   ATZ <Enter>
	   AT&F <Enter>
	   AT&W&W1 <Enter>
   
Wait for the OK message after each command before typing 
the next.
