ASCENTIA 950N DISPLAY FUNCTION DISABLED


This is an informational bulletin.

The display switching function on the Ascentia 950N has been temporarily 
disabled.  This function, which is normally invoked by pressing the <Fn> and 
the <F5> keys together, allows the Ascentia 950N to operate in panel only, 
CRT only, or simultaneous operation of panel and CRT modes.

This function has been temporarily disabled to eliminate the possibility of 
damaging the LCD display.  AST is leading the market in the introduction of 
true video acceleration through the Motion Video Architecture (MVA).  

A new Windows 3.1X video driver and system BIOS will be available from AST 
in the near future.  This video driver and new BIOS will enable the display 
switching function.
