AST PCMCIA ETHERNET CARD ON ASCENTIA 950N


This is an informational bulletin.

Unable to connect an Ascentia 950N system to a network with an add-in AST 
PCMCIA Ethernet card.

The Ascentia 950N User’s Manual on page 67 states:

Card and Socket Services assigns the following default parameters to a 
PCMCIA network card:

	IRQ 	I/O Address	Memory Address
	5	300h-31Fh	D400h-D7FFh

If you are installing an AST Ethernet card, change the IRQ settings to 9.  
When installing the network drivers, you must match the settings of Card 
and Socket Services.
